Primary learning styles of students are categorized as visual , auditory and kinesthetic . Teaching method s and activities should match with these three learning styles of students. Hence this study was carried out to understand the effectiveness of kinesthetic activities on student s' subject knowledge achievement level of science (for Biology unit) in grade ten. For this research study data were collected only from eighty one students in grade 10 classrooms in Kuli/Saranath College. Relevant teaching aids e.g., flip chart, computer, black board, white board and multimedia projector were used as audio and visual aids and twenty practicals and one field visit were prepared as kinesthetic activities. Pre-test and post- tests were used to evaluate the knowledge of the students before and after implementing the teaching method. Twenty practicals and a field visits were given as group activities for the experimental group while both control and experimental groups were taught the subject matter through lecturing method by using relevant audio and visual aids. The statistical software package Minitab 16.1.0 was used for the entire data analysis procedure to check whether there is a significant difference between experimental groups and control groups in the ' initial stages before conducting the experiment and after approaching treatments. Both groups had forty one students each for the research. Finally it was revealed that control and experimental groups do not differ significantly in scoring in the post-test examination paper, the students who learnt from kinesthetic activity based teaching methods were scoring significantly higher in some essay type questions, structured essay and MCQs which had high impact of kinesthetic methods compared to those who did not receive the kinesthetic activities.en-USBiologyTeaching methodsTeachingEffectiveness of kinesthetic activities on students' subject knowledge achievement level of science (biology unit) in grade tenThesis
