Mobile access asset control system

Abstract

A MOBILE ACCESS ASSET CONTROL SYSTEM is designed for Stafford Motor Company in Sri Lanka for handling electronic assets. The company has ten different departments and they have lots of electronic assets mainly computers, printers, scanners, switches, routers etc. Managing these electronic devices manually is a complex and time consuming task. . This system provides the solution for the problems exist in current manual asset control system used in the company. System mainly registers all the data items related to electronic devices in a database. The system provides item registration, item transfer, send item to repair, return back from repair and dispose functions. System also provides reports for item details, repair history, current repair items and transfer history. The system is used by administrators and normal users. They have different privileges. Only the administrators can add and edit other users and add and edit mobile numbers. The SMS module used in the system send SMS to the System Administrator, General Manager and Director when the user performs dispose, transfer item functions. The developed system is tested for validity and it is found that the system functions accordingly and efficiently.
