The major intention of the current study was to convince students the importance of doing some of the experiments introduced in the practical chemistry curriculum under Advanced Level Syllabus. The enhancement of the student’s learning skills was evaluated by giving a pretest and a posttest and a criterion based method was used for further analysis of the results. The study showed a closer relationship between the principles of chemistry that they have learned in the classroom and how those were applicable to the day to day life. The results of the study revealed the possibility of introducing some convenient and interesting water quality detection methods to the Advance Level chemistry syllabus.
