| dc.description.abstract | Mathematics plays an important role in each and every person's life because it is related to each and every activity of our life. So, it is vital for a child to learn it from his school time . It is important for a child to pass mathematics subject under Sri Lanka's education system. Most ofthe G.C.E (OIL) students studying at remote schools in Sri Lanka fail in mathematics subject, and as a result they are unable to continue their education. In this .study, we attempted to identify the real causes for this situation. In this Survey, I have identified six remote schools out of the twelve such schools in the Thirukkovil Education Zone; collected data from the said schools' teachers, students, principals, and parents; evaluated such data and put forward some conclusion and suggestions to improve learning of mathematics. I strongly believe that this Survey will, to a great extent, benefit students' learning of mathematics in remote schools in the Island. | |
