Web based information system for the provincial, zonal and divisional educational offices of central province

Abstract

Central Provincial Department of Education — Kandy is in charge of overall administration of 1470 Government Schools in the province. To assist the Department, there are 15 Zonal Education Offices spread throughout the province. Schools come directly under the supervision of their respective Zonal Education Offices. In addition there are 47 Divisional Education Offices spread throughout the province. They function under their respective Zonal education offices and are expected to assist them in their work. There are nearly 1200 officers employed in these offices. The report presents an online information System with a database to store necessary details of all employees in the Provincial, Zonal and Divisional Education Offices and retrieve information ’ instantly as and when needed with different user levels and thereby increasing the efficiency in the organization.

The system facilitates data management of employees. Data can be entered, edited and deleted by the administrator. The system also facilitates data management through remote locations, i.e.: 4 Zonal Education Offices. Further, employee report can be generated.
