Web based information system to faculty of veterinary medicine & animal science

Abstract

University of Peradeniya is the largest tertiary education provider in Sri Lanka. Nearly 12000 students are catered through nine faculties in various study areas. Faculty of veterinary medicine and animal science has unique area of study and nearly 350 students are catered during each academic year.

In the context of modern era, information technology is applied every where possible. As a faculty which caters large number of students, many operations to be handled in various sections. Major functions are student registration, store student details and retrieval, result store, process and transcript generation. "VetSIS" is the information system developed to achieve higher efficiency and ease the student handling operations in faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science.
