Abstract
This study was under taken to see the impact of the rehabilitation assistant after three years of implementation by the government organizations and the internal non government organizations in the Town and Gravets Divisional Secretary (DS) division in Trincomalee District of Sri Lanka.
The data collection was based on secondary information as well as personal interviews with structured questionnaire and was analysed.
High dependency rate, deprivation from traditional occupation, non reliable work opportunities, non availability of capital, inappropriate housing, bad Inferasture and utility facilities, average mental health and family health status are being faced by the re-settlers.
Proper work opportunities with vocational training, improved Inferasture facilities, assistance to fishing occupation, housing in relation to family size projections with adequate funding with utility services and ownership land dead as well as health and nutritional programs are recommended.
