Design and development of a meeting booking system

Abstract

The advancement in mobile technology and its wide usage have given many business organizations various opportunities to expand their business and offer new services to their customers. The most commonly used meeting scheduling applications are not providing mobile platform support. . The Meeting Booking System is built for the modern workplace to facilitate the employees of an organization to schedule their meetings effectively and view their meeting information from their mobile phone, when they are out of the office. There are three main modules developed to achieve the objective. Those are Meeting booker (MTGBOOK) which is a desktop application handling meeting scheduling and manipulating user diaries, MTGIS is a server program authenticate and send meeting requests to all users and connect mobile client to meeting booker, and Mobile Client which retrieve information from server and displaying it on mobile phone. Meeting booker has special features such as giving users the ability to view the meetings schedules on their phones; they simply receive a message with the details of the meetings . Users do not need to post their personal schedules for everyone else to see, and the system is user friendly, flexible and affordable.
