Online mail tracking system

Abstract

An attempt was made to develop a software package that provides solution to many problems that arise in handling mails in an organization. This software is a multiuser system that operates on local area network spread across the organization. It supports data to be shared among several users with multi access facility and information can be retrieved and modified on demand. This enables organization community to work with a real time system avoiding time consuming batch oriented processing technology. Daily mail handling in the University of Peradeniya was observed prior to the development of the software system. They don’t use any record keeping system for incoming and outgoing mails except registered mails. The developed system has facilities in keep tracks on handling mails. It will help the university community to improve the quality of daily activities by enhancing the daily mail handling.
