Students who learn electrochemistry for G.C.E (advance level) are likely to F experience some confusion and unexpected difficulty with some aspects of this subject. This can be a frustrating experience for students and teachers alike and consequently, students, who initially find electrochemistry a fascinating topic, may tend to become disenchanted by the apparent lack of consistency and logic in its presentation. The work prescribed here is an attempt to introduce some simple experiments that can be carried out in the school environment to establish the relative positions of the elements in the electrochemical series. It is hoped that such a hands on approach would help the student understand the electrochemical concepts better.
