| dc.description.abstract | By 1990, the LTTE ordered all the Muslims in the North and the East within on hour to evacuate. Therefore, thousands of Tamil speaking Muslims came for safer areas, outside the war. Thus, people of Jaffna, crossing the lagoon via Kilinochchi, and Mulative came to Mannar and overland proceeded to the Puttlam as well. Those who were in Mannar directly came to Puttlam by the sea. Those who were in Vavuniya also came over land to Anuradhapura and Puttlam.Thus,Puttlam,Anuradhapura,Kurunagala,Dambulla became their final destinations and having arrived ,they made sever changes on these societies, specially on the host communities of the destinations, socio-economically, culturally and politically. It has both good and bad repercussions .In this study it is expected to find out, as to what sort of changes have been done and as to how they have affected with the local community in each areas to change its local socio-economic and political situation. And also,it is expected to identify the particular behavior of this sort of phenomenon in a situation like this and as to how the sudden influx of lager number of the IDPs could change and affect with the locals. Especially those who came from Manna settled in Kalpitiya and the government located them temporarily .Lateron, in Alankuda, these IDPs were relocated under the Relocation program established in so many Welfare Centers. Hereby, in order to find the above mentioned changes, the study based on the Alankuda which is a village situated in Kalpitiya. | |
