Location based reminder for android system

Abstract

Smart phones that are equipped with navigation and Global positioning services have gained much popularity among the masses for providing location iriformation and guiding people. Location based services have also become a standard feature and are used in various contexts. Telecom service providers provide many innovative location based services as it has the market potential. Location based reminders are an extension of Location based services and such applications alert a user when he or she is in the proximity of a specified location. In this project report we review the set of location based reminders, understand the technologies used in such systems and the metrics of interest that are used in these systems. We propose a novel location based reminder system that utilizes better metrics than the existing systems and validate the proposed system using simulation based studies.
