Design and development of a virtual academy

Abstract

Online education has high popularity today. However, in the Sri Lankan context traditional faced to face education approach dominates the education system of the country. This makes several disadvantages to those who are willing to update their knowledge but could not.attend classes. Therefore, this report presents an online education system named virtual academy. The important features of this system are that the system is designed and developed with modem technologies to facilitate good security and ease of access. The developed system was tested with a selected sample of people including school students , undergraduates, postgraduates and employees who are reading for various educational programmes. According to their feedback the system facilitates their requirements. Additionally, it is learnt that the system functions reliably and efficiently.
