Computer assisted programmes for teaching selected topics in A-Levels chemistry

Abstract

Teachers have a responsibility to improve their students knowledge, and skills and attitudes. If teachers want to produce balanced students to the society and obtain good results from their teaching procedure they must experiment new methodologies in introducing subject matter. Therefore in this project I present computer programmes for a few selected topics in A-Level chemistry syllabus. These are abstract concepts and cannot be experimented. Using these computer programmes students can easily understand the underlying concepts and teachers’ task becomes easy. Topics selected for this project are, 1. Orbital shape 2. Orbital overlap 3. Hybridization 4. Molecular shape
