A vehicle fleet management information system for Sri Lanka air force

Abstract

Vehicle Fleet Management is a ver y useful and important event for any organization which has few or more number of vehicles.

The objective of this work is to design and develop a computerized information management system, (General Engineering Resources Management System G ERMS), for Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) to carrying out the Vehicle Fleet Management process. The proposed system will overcome the drawbacks ofthe current manual system. GE RMS :is de signed by utilizing modern technologies and tool s to meet requirement of SLA F. The proposed system facilitates to handle Vehicle Information holding, Tran sport Management, Repair Workshop Management, Fleet Serviceability Monitoring, E-Publication and Daily Function of Motor Transport Section. The de veloped system was tested for its functionality and errors. The results indicated that the system functions accurately and efficiently.
